G.L. McQueary is a Jersey City native whose journey in the performing arts began on stage in 1989 with the play Ceremonies in Dark Old Men. Since then, he has appeared in more than two dozen stage productions, bringing powerful performances to works such as A Soldier’s Play, Fences, Split Second, The Colored Museum, Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me, and A Raisin in the Sun, which earned him a Best Supporting Actor nomination from the Santa Monica Theater Guild.
In 2004 McQueary joined SAG-AFTRA and expanded his work into film and television. His screen credits include appearances in Joker: Folie à Deux and Exhibiting Forgiveness, as well as earlier projects such as Unidentified, Young American Gangstas, and The Cloth. He also received the GAFFERS Award for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy for his performance in the short film RiB Shack.
Beyond acting, McQueary is an active storyteller and creator. He writes for stage, film, television, poetry, and monologues, often describing his writing process as simply putting on paper the voices and stories he hears in his mind. His work explores human connection, resilience, humor, and redemption. Among the projects he has written and developed are original screenplays and stage concepts including Almost There, Momma’s Porch, and My Rhythm My Blues.
As both an actor and filmmaker, McQueary continues to develop independent projects while collaborating with other artists to bring authentic, character-driven stories to life. His creative work reflects a lifelong commitment to storytelling and the belief that powerful stories can both entertain and inspire.
I act both on stage and screen. I am also available for voice over acting. Please see my resumé for the details of my experience and skills.

ME vs ME - PRE- PRODUCTION
Exhibiting Forgiveness is a powerful and deeply personal film that explores the difficult journey of healing between a successful artist and his estranged father. Directed by acclaimed visual artist Titus Kaphar and starring André Holland, the film blends visual art and storytelling to examine themes of memory, trauma, and the complex process of forgiveness. The story unfolds with emotional depth, revealing how confronting the past can shape the path toward healing. I had the opportunity to appear in a small role in the film, and it was an honor to be part of a project that approaches such meaningful themes with honesty, artistry, and heart.
A hidden trivia gem from Joker: Folie à Deux comes from one of the courtroom scenes. There was originally no case number written in the script. During filming, when I was asked by the judge to call out the case, director Todd Phillips would call “cut.” I asked if I could improvise the moment, and he agreed. Since I needed a number that would be easy to remember, I decided to use my birthday as the case number. It’s a small detail most viewers will never notice, but it became a fun personal Easter egg hidden in the film, one of those little behind-the-scenes moments that made the experience special, especially sharing the scene with the judge played by Bill Smitrovich (Judge Herman Rothwax). something exciting your business offers? Say it here.
A quiet, watchful man confronts the ghosts of his past when a chance encounter forces him to choose between revenge and redemption, proving A Leopard can never changes it’s spots.
